Prominence is only official CD release from Australian progressive metal band Syzygy independently released in 2000. The album features eight-tracks of completely instrumental progressive rock music.

Not to be confused with the art rock band from America, Syzygy is an all-instrumental prog-rock band hailing from Perth, Western Australia. Formed in 1995, Syzygy were prolific performers in the Perth music scene between 1996-2005. Band members cite their influences as Meshuggah, Symphony X, Liquid Tension Experiment, Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Queen, Extreme, Metallica and Pink Floyd.

Syzygy is recommended if you are a collector or fan of progressive rock & metal, eg Dream Theater, Symphony X, Tool, Porcupine Tree
