Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa. The group was founded in 1995 during the height of the Nu-Metal era by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison, and bassist Paul Gray. Other Slipknot members in this nine-piece metal powerhouse are Corey Taylor, Mick Thomson, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Sid Wilson and Chris Fehn. Slipknot live concerts are famous for high their energy and chaos with individually styled Slipknot masks worn by each member.
