Suffocating in the Swarm of Cranes is the second studio album from the German atmospheric sludge/post-black metal/crust band Downfall Of Gaia.

Their debut as was more of the typical neo-crust variety. This album follows on the previous release by increasing the metal elements. The drumming becomes more black metal in style. The riffs themselves are more metallic. However, this is still mostly a neocrust record. Lastly, their latest album which as of this writing is Aeon Unveils The Thrones Of Decay continues on the path of increasing the metal elements and removing most of the immediately noticeable neocrust elements and becomes something that can best be described as blackened Isis/Russian Circles.
