First Strike For Spiritual Renewance is the debut full-length album from the Norwegian blackened thrash metal band Dead To This World.

Norway’s Dead to this World remember when black metal was in its infancy, and their relentless chainsaw sound harks back to that sound. Utterly fat-free and focused, First Strike For Spiritual Renewance grinds with purpose throughout its 10 tracks, and aside from the epic-length “Hammer of the Gods,” keeps things reasonably brief. “Night of the Necromancer” is as sinister as Seasons In The Abyss-era Slayer, “Into the Light (Baphomet Rising)” piles layers of shattering guitar on top of a stern rhythm section, and “To Free Death Upon Them” rages powerfully, roaring like a motorbike’s engine.
