Echoes of the Soul is the debut album from the death metal band Crypta!

CRYPTA has emerged as a formidable force in the realm of death metal, boasting a distinctive sonic prowess. This Brazilian/Dutch death metal quartet, featuring vocalist and bassist Fernanda Lira and drummer Luana Dametto (both former members of thrash metal pioneers NERVOSA), along with accomplished guitarists Sonia Anubis (Cobra Spell, Ex-Burning Witches) and Tainá Bergamaschi (Ex-Hagbard), is primed to unleash their highly anticipated debut album, "Echoes of the Soul."

Founded in June 2019, this powerhouse ensemble leverages the collective strength and expertise of its four formidable members, drawing inspiration from classic and modern death metal, as well as elements of extreme and black metal. The atmospheric and foreboding 55-second intro, "Awakening," sets the stage for the intensity that follows in "Echoes of the Soul," injecting a murky and fiery essence into the heart of the death metal machine.

The album's sonic tapestry, influenced by various death metal sub-genres and laced with traces of classic thrash, becomes immediately apparent. Across its 10 tracks, CRYPTA unleashes high-powered sonic demons, fueling explosive energy with relentless guitar riffs, Fernanda Lira's unmistakable vocal prowess, and Dametto's commanding drumming. Tracks like "Starvation," "Kali," and "Blood Stained Heritage" ignite a tempest of unbridled rage, while "Under The Black Wings" and "Dark Night Of the Soul" showcase unyielding hardness within a perilous atmosphere.

"Death Arcana" delves deeper into CRYPTA's sonic mastery, featuring sprawling solos that harken back to earlier times but are imbued with a modern twist. As the album reaches its crescendo with the closing track, "From The Ashes," the band's synergy is on full display. Lira's forceful vocals, Anubis and Bergamaschi's bold guitar attacks, and Dametto's sophisticated drumming summon a phoenix to rise from the ashes, leaving listeners craving more.

Recorded in January 2021 at the Family Mob Studio in Brazil, "Echoes of the Soul" was mixed by Arthur Rizk (known for his work with Code Orange and Powertrip) and mastered by the renowned Jens Bogren (Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Sepultura). The captivating cover artwork, created by internationally acclaimed artist Wes Benscoter (known for his work with Slayer, Kreator, Black Sabbath, and more), adds a visually stunning dimension to CRYPTA's debut masterpiece.
